Oggi parliamo di centritavola originali. Siamo ormai abituati a vedere i soliti centritavola con fiori e fiorellini, ma perché non sperimentare con qualcosa di più inusuale? Potreste rimanere stupiti su come un oggetto che obiettivamente non c'entra nulla con il matrimonio, possa diventare un centrotavola alternativo e divertente. Alcuni di quelli che vi proporrò sono facili da realizzare manualmente e composti da materiali che è facile reperire, per cui quello che serve è solo tanta voglia di fare e inventiva!
Un consiglio prima di iniziare: state attente che non siano troppo alti i centritavola. Mi sono sempre chiesta come sia possibile disquisire con un proprio commensale, quando tra i due si frappone una palma alta un metro e mezzo. Insomma, io voto per i centritavola bassi, favoriscono le amicizie e la convivialità!

Today we talk about original centerpieces. We are used to see flowers centerpieces, but why not experiment with something more unusual? You might be amazed on how an object that objectively has nothing to do with weddings, can become an original centerpiece. Some of these centerpieces are easy to DIY and are made from materials that are easy to find, so what you need is just will and inventive!
A tip before you start: be careful that they are not too high. I always wondered how it is possible to chat with your table mates, when between you there is a palm which is one and a half feet high. In short, I think that little centerpieces facilitate friendships and conviviality!
But now...let's start!
1. Spolette di filo - Spools
Beh qua mi ci ritrovo decisamente. La trovo un'idea adorabile e un po' vintage: l'unica cosa che dovrete fare sarà procurarvi delle spolette (magari la nonna qua potrò aiutarvi!) e un contenitore di plastica o vetro che le contenta. Se poi sono di colori tutti spaiati l'effetto è ancora più colorato e divertente!
I think this is an adorable and little vintage idea: the only thing you have to do is to find spools (maybe grandma can help you!) and a container of plastic or glass. If they are all of mismatched colors the effect is even more colorful and funny!
2. Libri vintage - Vintage books
Adoro, letteralmente adoro! I libri, accostati con fiori o altri oggettini vintage sono perfetti per un matrimonio molto chic e un po' "intellettuale". L'ideale è procurarsi dei vecchi libri un po' ingialliti, che diano ancora di più l'effetto dell'usato: andando in un mercatino dell'usate è possibile trovarne a valanghe, basta aggiungere qualche fiore e qualche oggetto spaiato che potrete trovare sempre nei mercatini, e otterrete un centrotavola vintage e inusuale.
I love it! Books, mixed with flowers or other vintage little objects are perfect for a very chic and a bit "nerd" wedding. You can get yellowed old books by going to a flea market; then you just add a few flowers and some unpaired object that you can always find in flea markets, and you have a vintage and unusual centerpiece.
3. Lattine di latta - Tin cans
Le lattine di latta sono adatte a un matrimonio colorato e un po' pop! Mi chiederete voi, e dove le possiamo trovare? Dunque, so che fino a qualche tempo fa all'Esselunga vendevano un'edizione limitata delle lattine Campbell di Andy Warhol, però ora non sono sicura che ci siano ancora. Anche in questo caso, la soluzione sono i mercatini dell'usato!

4. Tazze da tè - Cups of tea
Perfette per un matrimonio molto romantico e chic, in questo caso le tazze e le teiere diventano vasi per i fiori. Bellissimo il binomio margherite-teiera, lo trovo davvero adorabile.
Perfect for romantic and chic wedding, cups and teapots become vases for flowers. I think that the combination of daisies tea and pot is beautiful!
5. Legno - Wood
Per un matrimonio rustico e all'aperto...legno! Ma proprio legno eh! Tronchi di legno!
In questo caso basta procurarsi del legno, che diventa la base per un centrotavola fiorito oppure per tanti oggetti/vasetti che completano l'opera.

In this case, just pick up the wood, and make it become the basis for a flowered centerpiece or for many objects/jars that complete the work.
6. Piante grasse - Succulents
Anche dette succulente, le piante grasse possono essere un'alternativa originale al classico fiore. Sono adatte a un matrimonio un po' country che richiama i colori e i sapori del sud.
Succulents can be an alternative to the classic flowered centerpieces. They are suitable for a rustic wedding that recalls the colors and flavors of the south.
7. Torte - Cakes
Torte??? Avete capito bene, torte! Delle piccole torte usate come centritavola! l'effetto è colorato e divertente. L'unica controindicazione è che se il pranzo è agli inizi, gli ospiti avranno un'acquolina in bocca assurda! :)

8. Terrario - Terrarium
Si tratta di un piccolo contenitore di vetro che al suo interno contiene piante. Idea vintage e un po' rustica, in questo caso i terrari sono stati abbinati a piume e a piccoli oggetti vintage, e l'effetto è molto ricercato.
They are small glass containers that contain plants. In this case terrariums were combined with small feathers and vintage items, and the effect is very refined.
9. Centritavola appesi - Hanging centerpieces
Si tratta di comuni centritavola...ma appesi! In pratica il centrotavola appoggiato sul tavolo viene sostituito da un centrotavola "importante" che viene sospeso sulle teste degli invitati...molto suggestivo!
They are common flowered centerpieces...but hanging! In practice, the centerpiece on the table is replaced by a centerpiece that is suspended over the heads of the guests...very impressive!
10. Origami - Paper folding
Questa idea mi è venuta vedendo le foto dei meravigliosi centritavola che una nostra sposa sta pazientemente realizzando a mano per il suo matrimonio, davvero bellissimi! Il necessario è: carta, voglia di fare e tutorial! (su youtube si trovano tutorial su qualsiasi cosa, ovviamente ce ne sono a bizzeffe anche per gli origami!).
This is an idea I took from the photos of the beautiful centerpieces that one of our brides is patiently producing for her own wedding! You'll just need: paper, will and tutorials! (on youtube you will find tutorials about anything, and of course there are plenty of them about paper folding!).
